The Golden Hour Surprise Engagement Proposal

Avi wanted to do a golden hour surprise engagement proposal to his girlfriend, Tanya. He had Sea Cliff in Long Island in mind as his golden spot where he would ‘bend the knee’. A week before the proposal day, Avi and I came to scout the best spot. The Sea Cliff Beach was the perfect location as it offered an intimate setting and the perfect angle toward the setting sun. On the day of the engagement proposal, it was cloudy and the golden light wasn’t able to break through the clouds. Avi was quite the planner and had booked a violinist, Juan, who was playing Tanya’s favorite song. I was pretending as if I was taking pictures of the violinist.

Tanya and Avi looked super beautiful together when they walked down the beach. I have no idea how Avi was able to work his charm and get Tanya to wear her engagement proposal dress. The best part was that Tanya had no idea what was about to happen. As Tanya approached the violinist, I think she realized what was happening. She was filled with joy, tears and happiness. After that Avi got on his knees and popped the most important question! She SAID YES!!! Love and romance filled the surprise engagement proposal atmosphere.

You can feel the emotions of the moment through the candid photos of both of them. I wish the golden light was visible for the extra glow in the photos. Sometimes Mother nature has its own mind and at the end of the day, it was perfect to celebrate the start of a new chapter.
